Making Unconditional Love Your First Choice
This chapter was a very important chapter to where I am now in my life. God spoke to me about showing unconditional love over the past year and a half. It is a continuous process like forgiveness. The word unconditional means the following: decisive, definite, explicit, genuine, thorough, outright, unequivocal, unlimited, unqualified, and unrestricted.
I remember going through the church battle and feeling betrayed as well. Of course, not to the level of Pastor and Bishop but to some degree also. It appeared that friendships and relationships were lost. But I kept holding on to the Word of God and knowing the foundation that was laid before us. Witnessing how Pastor and Bishop handled that situation not just for a few months but years helped prepare me for my current battle. I know that making unconditional love my first choice is the key. It is hard to do it, of our own might. But with God all things are possible. When the people closest to you forsake you. My first instinct is to return the same energy back. There is no glory in that response. Every time I show unconditional love to someone that has deceived or abandoned me, a since a peace comes into my life. As a result, it kind of leaves that person in a “baffled” state of mind. I think they want me to react in my old nature. But God has shown me a new way to respond. This is becoming second nature to me. Periodically I catch my thought process slipping back, but I want God to get the glory in my life.
Lastly, continuous meditation and exercise is helping my mindset as well. The affirmation, “I am light” is so appropriate to this chapter. Making unconditional love my first choice is allowing God’s light to illuminate through me. I love it! Watching how GOD’s love, light, and forgiveness move through me as well to me. I am excited to see the metamorphosis in my life. To God Be All the Glory!
